Presbytery Committees

Have you ever considered working on a Presbytery Committee? Each year we are asked by our Presbytery Nominations Committee to recommend people who would be interested and willing to be nominated to serve on a committee. This is a very worthwhile contribution to your faith and can be in many different venues.

Listed below are the committees and the times they meet. They need people for the following committees:

• General Council: Meets in January, March, May, September & November (Tuesday A.M.) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Budget and Finance: Meets in January, March, May, September & November (weekdays) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Camp Whitman Property: Every month (first Thursday - 5:30 p.m. at Presbytery Office or Camp Whitman.).
• Committee on Presbytery Worship: Four times a year. Usually meets at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Nominations: Three times a year usually in September, October and November (weekday mornings) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Ministry: Eleven times a year (First Tuesday of every month [except July & August when they meet on the last Tuesday of July] at 5:30 p.m.) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Representation: One or two times a year (fall and spring) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Church-Employed Personnel - Six to eight times a year (weekdays) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Polity & Review: Four times a year usually September, October, April and May (weekday mornings). They meet at various churches in the Presbytery.
• Committee on Preparation for Ministry: Approximately five or six times a year (weekdays) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Strategy: January, March, May, September, November (third Thursday) at 1:45 p.m. at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Church Education: Five times a year (January, March, May, September, November) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Camp Whitman Program: Ten times a year (except July and August) (second Thursday morning) at Victor Presbyterian Church.
• Committee on Evangelism: Monthly except summer (weekday evenings) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Women and the Church: Monthly except summer (weekdays) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Interpretation & Stewardship: (weekdays) January, March, May September & November at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Mission Projects: Approximately four times a year (October, February, March, April) (weekday evenings) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Church in the World: Monthly except summer (weekday evenings) at Presbytery Office.
• Committee on Self-Development of People: Three or four times a year (winter, spring and fall) (Saturday mornings at Presbytery Office).
• Committee on the Resource Center: January, March, May, September, November (weekdays) at Presbytery Office.
• The Committee on Self-Development of People needs African American, Native American, Hispanic and Asian men and women for the effectiveness and awareness of the committee and also to satisfy the certification requirements of the committee. We can even have some non-Presbyterians on this committee.
